Italian Fashion Week Part 2

Last time, I told you about the AMAZING Stella Jean show that I sadly missed the majority of. But, this time I will tell you about the creatively chic C.M.J. leather show that I was able to attend!!! I'm a big fan of leather if it is done properly, so this particular show was a treat for me. The fit and tailoring on the leather works is just mind blowing. I had no idea that leather could be made to fit like a glove, especially in trousers or skinny pants.

I hope you are just as spell bound by the C.M.J. show as I was!

Again, huge thanks to Joseph Brewster and his wife Bethany for the wonderful photographs!!!

What I wore:                                         Dress: ChiChi Canvas peplum dress
                                                              Necklace: Merrin&Gussy The Temperate season
                                                              Purse: BeBe
                                                              Shoes: (not visible) BCBG

Italian Fashion Week Part 1

Over this past week, I was blessed enough to be invited to attend some events with the Italian fashion week that was hosted in Dallas Tx. Within a few seconds of the invite, I tossed every item from my closet into a suitcase and was on my way to the big city. Being an independent stylist, I am naturally drawn to every sort of fashion event. I just love all of the different kinds of people you meet and the grand diversity of the clothing that floats down the runway. This particular runway show was no average event!

Although Dallas is no New York, it is a grand enough fashion city to be able to host some simply AMAZING designers from all over the world! The event that I was able to attend was a C.M.J. and Stella Jean runway show! To my great disappointment, I missed the majority of the first runway show. However, I had friends at the event who were able to describe the first collection in perfect detail and, of course, to photograph it beautifully.
A friend of mine described the Stella Jean collection to me in the most intriguing sort of way, and yet the most fitting description possible. He said, "Picture the 50's house wife combined with modern Tuscany." And that, my friends, is exactly what it was! Described to a T!

That is enough talk, lets get down to the photos--taken by my friend Joseph Brewster-- of the Stella Jean show!

Here are some of Joseph's photographs of my favorite pieces from the Stella Jean collection

Runway Outfit Inspiration Board.

So, I have an exciting couture runway event that I will be attending next Thursday the 11th evening.
With this thought in mind, I went out today looking for a steal on a classy looking dress. I hit the jackpot. I found a stunning Grecian style, broom pleated, antique gold and cream, Gianni Bini gown for only $38 instead of $160!!! Only problems, I rarely wear gold, and almost never wear maxi gowns--considering I'm only 5'1" I tend to look a little silly in an extra long dress.
Thankfully, I am up for the challenge, and I am always wanting to try something new and out of my comfort-zone in the way of fashion and art. I'm quite exited to start on the styling. However, since I waited a bit late in the game to find a dress for the event, I probably can't get every item I'd dream of having with this dress. But if I could, this is what the combo would look like!

runway outfit

1: Gianni Bini pleated maxi shimmer dress
2: Merrin&Gussy Charleston earrings
3Vince Camuto snake skin bag
4: Merrin&gussy Westwood bracelet
5: Miss Dior
6: Vince Camuto silver plated t-strap heels.

I belong with you..

My dad and I have so many fun adventures trying to find new and unique places to shoot new looks. We stumbled upon this spot while shooting my last look at the train depot. This is a burned out house tucked snugly underneath an over-pass in old downtown. We thought it would just be empty and simple bricks, but to our surprise we found this stunning music inspired graffiti art.
Definitely an exciting location!

This is my new favorite cuff from merrinandgussy.com/#
I couldn't be happier with it. It's really a cool statement piece, and looks good with most everything I've paired it with!
